Engineering Project Manager – Operations Engineering

About the role

Amazon is looking for an Engineering Project Manager to lead the design, delivery and commissioning of automation and material‑handling systems for new and existing Fulfilment Centers in Mexico and the wider region. The role involves extensive travel (up to 50% of the time) and close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end delivery of medium and large‑scale engineering projects, from planning and design through procurement, installation, commissioning and launch support.
• Manage project budgets, schedules and risk forecasts while driving cost‑saving initiatives.
• Ensure safety, ergonomics, environmental and noise standards are met throughout the project lifecycle.
• Act as the primary interface for Worldwide Design Engineering, RME, PMO, Central Planning, Construction, IT, vendors and consultants.
• Coordinate handover to Operations and Maintenance teams and support go‑live activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing complex engineering projects in automation, robotics or material‑handling environments.
• Strong autonomy and ownership with the ability to influence cross‑functional and global teams.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and a focus on quality, sustainability and long‑term operational performance.
