About the role

The Nanjing University School of Biomedical Engineering seeks outstanding scholars for full‑time tenure‑track or tenured faculty positions at the Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor levels. The school aims to become a world‑class hub at the intersection of life sciences, engineering, and clinical medicine, supporting innovative research and education.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead independent research programs aligned with the school’s strategic interests.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in biomedical engineering and related fields.
• Supervise graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and research staff.
• Secure external funding and contribute to the school’s research portfolio.
• Participate in departmental service, curriculum development, and community outreach.

Required profile

• PhD in biomedical engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Strong record of independent research, publications, and scholarly impact.
• Demonstrated teaching ability or potential.
• Clear, distinctive research vision with notable academic achievements.
• For Assistant Professor level, at least three years of postdoctoral or equivalent industry experience (exceptional recent PhDs may be considered).
• For Associate/Full Professor level, a distinguished, sustained record of excellence.
