Field Service Engineer – Automation & Robotics

About the role

Join a global automation leader as a Field Service Engineer, bringing cutting‑edge robotics and automation solutions to industrial customers worldwide. You will travel to customer sites, commission systems, and provide hands‑on technical support.

Key responsibilities

• Commission, program and optimise PLCs, robots and automation software on‑site.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical and software issues.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, including wiring and system testing.
• Deliver training to customer teams and provide remote technical support when required.
• Produce detailed service reports and identify opportunities for operational improvement.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic or Automation Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years experience in industrial maintenance, commissioning or programming.
• Willingness to travel internationally for extended periods and work evenings/weekends when needed.
• Fluent English (intermediate minimum) and a valid passport.

Required skills

• Siemens Step7 and/or Allen Bradley PLC programming.
• Fanuc and/or ABB robot programming.
• Industrial networks: Profibus, Profinet, DeviceNet, AS‑i, Ethernet.
• SCADA systems such as WinCC, Intouch or VB.net.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical and pneumatic systems.
