Field Support Engineer – IT Infrastructure

About the role

Infosys is seeking a proactive Field Support Engineer to provide hands‑on technical assistance across data‑center and office environments. The role involves on‑site installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of servers, network devices, storage systems, and end‑user equipment while ensuring high‑quality service for internal and VIP users.

Key responsibilities

• Perform hands‑and‑feet support for compute, storage, backup and network infrastructure in data‑centers.
• Reboot devices, establish console connections, manage cable/SFP insertion, and execute rack‑mounting or stacking tasks.
• Install, configure and maintain desktop computers, peripherals, printers, scanners and mobile phones.
• Execute IMAC (Install, Move, Add, Change) services and provide VIP‑level support for audio‑visual and conferencing equipment.
• Conduct L1 network troubleshooting (LAN connectivity, DHCP, DNS) and assist backend teams with server/application issues.
• Label racks and devices, mount or relocate servers, and install shared printers.
• Support Office 365, coverage/compliance software, and macOS devices.
• Maintain IT inventory, coordinate vendor support, assist procurement, and document incidents per SLA.

Required profile

• Strong communication skills and ability to follow defined Service Level Agreements.
• Experience delivering on‑site technical support in a data‑center or enterprise environment.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with vendors and internal teams.

Required skills

• Hands‑and‑feet hardware support (server, network, storage).
• Cable management, rack mounting, and device reboot procedures.
• Desktop OS installation, peripheral configuration, and IMAC processes.
• L1 network troubleshooting – LAN, DHCP, DNS.
• Office 365 administration and macOS support.
• Inventory management and vendor coordination.
