Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead accounting operations for US‑based companies within the MAVIMAVI network. This remote, hands‑on position blends strategic oversight with detailed execution, allowing you to shape finance processes while collaborating with senior finance leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee end‑to‑end accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and month‑end close.
• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies, internal controls, and close procedures.
• Coordinate external audits and manage relationships with auditors.
• Lead ERP system implementations, migrations, and automation initiatives.
• Mentor and support accounting team members, providing guidance on complex issues.
• Communicate financial risks and recommendations to senior stakeholders.

Required profile

• 8‑10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including roles such as Controller, Assistant Controller, or senior Accounting Manager.
• Deep knowledge of US GAAP and proven ownership of month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close.
• Experience managing audits and working with external auditors.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets.
• CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
