Frontend Product Software Engineer, Design Systems

About the role

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our Design Systems team at Dropbox. The role focuses on building the next generation of UI infrastructure, design systems, and AI‑native development workflows that enable designers and engineers to create products faster and more consistently.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and evolve UI components and primitives that power Dropbox’s design system.
• Design and build AI‑powered tooling and agent‑driven workflows that accelerate design‑to‑code processes.
• Partner closely with designers to translate design intent into high‑quality, reusable code.
• Contribute to the architecture and strategy of AI‑native UX development, including integration of LLMs, agents, and automation.
• Prototype and productionize new concepts that explore the future of design systems.
• Embed WCAG accessibility standards into components and AI‑assisted workflows.
• Write clear, scalable documentation for both human and AI consumers.
• Collaborate in code reviews, design critiques, and technical discussions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues from internal teams to improve reliability.
• Drive experimentation with emerging AI technologies and translate insights into tooling improvements.
