General Accountant

About the role

GKN Aerospace is looking for a detail‑oriented General Accountant to join its finance team. The role will support core accounting functions while driving process optimisation, ERP enhancements and cross‑functional finance initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, execute month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close activities, and reconcile balance‑sheet accounts.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP/IFRS and support internal and external audits.
• Participate in ERP (LN) implementation projects, translating accounting requirements into system configurations, supporting data migration, validation and UAT.
• Identify and recommend process improvements and automation opportunities across Procure‑to‑Pay, Order‑to‑Cash and Record‑to‑Report cycles.
• Apply cost accounting principles, maintain standard costing systems, and ensure compliance with internal controls such as SOX.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in financial reporting and end‑to‑end finance processes.
• Hands‑on accounting experience with exposure to ERP implementations or upgrades.
• Understanding of manufacturing finance flows, cost allocations and inventory valuation.
• Ability to work collaboratively with AP, AR, FP&A, IT and Operations teams.
