General Labour

About the role

The General Labourer supports daily operations at Emterra Group’s recycling plant in Victoria. You will safely sort incoming materials, remove contaminants, keep the work area clean, and follow all safety policies. This position reports to the Plant Manager and will support a new contract beginning July 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Perform duties safely and in compliance with company policies.
• Wear and maintain required PPE at all times.
• Inspect materials and sort them into designated areas.
• Pull contaminants from the sorting line.
• Carry out cleaning tasks for plant equipment and general housekeeping.
• Report any system problems immediately to a supervisor.
• Maintain a clean, orderly work environment.
• Maintain excellent attendance, safety, and work‑quality records.

Required profile

• Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks for extended periods and lift up to 25 lb.
• Previous forklift experience is an asset, but training will be provided.
• Effective interpersonal skills to understand and follow instructions, signs, and safety training.
• Capability to work in a manufacturing environment that may vary with weather conditions.
• Ability to meet timelines, work with minimal supervision, and follow direction.
• Punctual, reliable, and a strong team player.

Required skills

• Forklift operation (asset, training provided if needed).
• Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Material sorting and contaminant removal.
