Global Compliance Associate

About the role

For eCommerce merchants looking to reach new consumers in new markets, international shipping can be a convoluted, rapidly‑changing landscape. The Global Compliance Associate‑Ops will help brands reach new customers by supporting Passport’s Global Compliance service offerings, focusing on customs data review, HS classification and ensuring quality customs data end‑to‑end.

Key responsibilities

• HTS Classification (product catalogs, Shopify, internal requests)
• Resolve customs holds and compliance concerns
• Maintain duty rates
• Manage product rules (customs descriptions, HS codes, COO)
• Review country‑level regulations and restrictions
• Manage customs manifests for export
• Become an expert on the Passport product while staying current with industry trends

Required profile

• 1+ years work experience with HTS classification
• 1+ years of international logistics experience
• Ability to manage data entry projects
• Understanding of duty/taxes, COO and free‑trade agreements
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to take on any task, big or small
• Self‑motivating team player who can work cross‑functionally and multitask
• Resourceful – knows how to find answers or who to ask
• Creative problem‑solving skills for an evolving environment
• Ability to communicate complex problems clearly to diverse audiences
