Global SAP Operations Engineer – Scheduling & Automation (Control M)

About the role

Join KION Group IT as a Global SAP Operations Engineer focused on scheduling and automation using BMC Control‑M. You will ensure the stability, reliability, and performance of SAP batch processing across a worldwide, multi‑region landscape.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and optimise SAP batch job scheduling and automation with Control‑M.
• Maintain availability and reliability of SAP batch processes across multiple regions and time zones.
• Create, maintain, and validate Control‑M jobs based on approved technical and business documentation.
• Monitor job flows, dependencies, and calendars, proactively identifying production risks.
• Analyse, troubleshoot, and resolve job failures, delays, and performance issues.
• Act as first‑line owner for scheduling‑related incidents affecting SAP production systems.
• Provide consultation for new batch job and automation requests.
• Participate in a global on‑call rotation supporting critical SAP services outside regular hours.
• Track and resolve incidents and service requests using Remedy in line with SLAs.
• Collaborate with SAP Basis, application, and infrastructure teams to improve operational stability.

Required profile

• 2–4+ years of experience with BMC Control‑M in a production environment (SAP job scheduling preferred).
• Solid experience operating enterprise batch scheduling or automation systems.
• Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting live production issues.
• English proficiency (B2 or higher) and willingness to work in a global, English‑speaking team.
• Readiness to participate in a shared on‑call rota.
