Guest Service Officer (Onboard)

About the role

The Guest Service Officer provides friendly, passionate, and committed support to guests aboard the vessel. Acting as the first point of contact, the officer listens actively, resolves issues, and ensures a high level of guest satisfaction throughout the cruise.

Key responsibilities

• Greet guests and respond promptly to inquiries, concerns, and requests.
• Assist in resolving guest issues by listening actively and offering appropriate solutions.
• Handle cash transactions, process payments, and maintain accurate records using US currency and exchange‑rate knowledge.
• Operate basic office equipment such as telephones, computers and copy machines to support guest services.
• Communicate effectively with department heads and shipboard staff to coordinate resolutions.

Required profile

• Minimum one‑year experience in a customer‑contact role within the hotel or related industry.
• One‑year cash‑handling experience and familiarity with US currency.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Willingness to work onboard for a period of 5‑6 months.
• Fluent spoken and written English; additional languages (e.g., Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish) are a plus.
• Strong hospitality mindset, sense of humor, and excellent communication, organization and decision‑making abilities.
