Head of Operations

About the role

This senior leadership position will shape and scale the operational foundation of a global, fully remote financial services organization. Based in Mexico, the Head of Operations will drive efficiency, resilience, compliance and exceptional service delivery across multiple operational domains.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive operations strategy aligned with business objectives, focusing on scalability, efficiency, quality and compliance.
• Lead core operational areas including payments, treasury, reconciliations, card operations, back‑office processes and digital asset settlement.
• Own operational performance by establishing metrics, controls and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Drive process optimisation, automation and transformation using technology, data and AI‑enabled solutions.
• Create and implement standard operating procedures to improve consistency and visibility.
• Build, mentor and develop a high‑performing operations team, fostering accountability and collaboration.
• Partner with compliance, risk and financial crime teams to ensure regulatory adherence.
• Establish operational risk management frameworks, monitoring, reporting and audit readiness.

Required profile

• 10+ years of progressive experience leading operations in banking, fintech, financial services or wealth management.
• Proven track record scaling complex, regulated operational functions.
• Strategic thinker with strong risk management and people‑leadership capabilities.
• Experience in remote, technology‑driven environments.
