Hotel Industry Accountant

About the role

Howard Financial is seeking a detail‑oriented Accountant to support financial reporting, account reconciliations, and month‑end close activities for its portfolio of hospitality clients. You will ensure timely, accurate delivery of financial information while mastering specialized hotel systems.

Key responsibilities

• Execute daily accounting tasks, prepare journal entries, and support month‑end close to meet client deadlines.
• Maintain balance‑sheet integrity by cleaning up and resolving reconciling items.
• Quickly master clients' hospitality platforms, ERP tools, and reporting structures.
• Deliver consistent, accurate, and responsive client service in line with standardized processes.

Required profile

• 1–3+ years of professional accounting experience, preferably in hospitality, property management, or outsourced accounting.
• Strong foundational knowledge of accounting principles, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month‑end close cycles.
• Familiarity with hotel operations, revenue cycles, and hospitality systems such as Opera or POS platforms is a plus.
• Ability to learn Ottimate, Acumatica, and ProfitSword quickly.
• Highly organized, detail‑focused, and capable of working independently while collaborating effectively.
