Import Specialist

About the role

The Import Specialist will ensure timely and compliant delivery of import shipments for molds, spare parts, and equipment, supporting the LEGO Group’s manufacturing operations in Mexico. You will work closely with customs brokers, transport partners and internal teams to keep production lines running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Manage import operations for molds, mold parts, spare parts, machinery and equipment, coordinating with customs brokers to meet regulatory and company requirements.
• Maintain accurate data in systems and tools to ensure proper information transfer to Mexican Customs, upholding high compliance standards.
• Collaborate with transport companies, maintenance, engineering and procurement teams to execute daily import activities.
• Identify and mitigate risks, escalating issues to the Import Manager or Import‑Export Director as needed.
• Drive continuous improvement through LCI processes, focusing on simplification while preserving quality.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Foreign Trade, Customs, International Commerce or a related field.
• Strong experience with the IMMEX program and AEO‑certified environments or Mexican customs broker agencies.
• Knowledge of Mexican International Trade Law, Customs Law, Free Trade Agreements and VAT‑IEPS regulations.
• Advanced communication skills in English and Spanish, both written and verbal.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SAP or equivalent ERP systems.
