About the role

cbrands is seeking a Senior Industrial Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain data pipelines that connect operational technology (OT) with IT systems. You will work closely with business and technical stakeholders to enable data‑driven decision making across manufacturing processes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimise scalable data pipelines for batch and real‑time data using APIs, Python, SQL and NoSQL.
• Integrate data from PLCs, HMIs, SCADA and other industrial sources, ensuring high data quality.
• Design and implement robust ETL/ELT processes to load data into data lakes, warehouses and other storage solutions.
• Redesign infrastructure for improved scalability, performance and reliability.
• Support business initiatives such as OEE, KPI dashboards, self‑service BI, machine‑learning use cases and ad‑hoc analytics.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field (advanced degree preferred).
• 5+ years of enterprise‑level data engineering experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, able to collaborate across locations.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• SQL and NoSQL query languages.
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or similar) and deployment of cloud‑based solutions.
• Data modelling, data warehousing, data governance and ETL processes.
• Familiarity with OPC‑UA, MQTT and other industrial automation protocols.
• Experience with PLC, HMI and SCADA data extraction.
