Installation Technician Trainee – Data Center

About the role

Join Amazon Web Services' Infrastructure Delivery team as an Installation Technician Trainee. Over a 12‑month period you will work on the physical deployment of data‑center infrastructure across the EMEA region, gaining hands‑on experience with cabling, rack installation, and network device setup.

Key responsibilities

• Adhere to security and safety best practices within data‑center environments.
• Install and test copper and fiber‑optic cabling.
• Perform basic build and troubleshooting of network devices.
• Create and attach labels and barcodes to equipment.
• Handle and lift equipment in accordance with weight‑limit regulations.
• Work at heights using ladders and elevated platforms.
• Manage inventory of installation materials.
• Follow defined escalation processes and standard operating procedures.
• Operate in noisy areas with temperature variations.
• Travel within the assigned geographical work area as required.

Required profile

• Self‑starter, highly motivated and eager to learn.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate across functions.
• Physical capability to work in cramped spaces and elevated locations.
• Minimum age of 18 years.
• High school diploma or equivalent; STEM or vocational coursework preferred.
• Basic knowledge of computer hardware components and operating systems.
