IT Technician – Support & Maintenance

About the role

As an IT Technician at Harting, you will ensure the reliability of our hardware infrastructure and provide first‑line support to users across the organization. You will work closely with the IT department to keep workstations, peripherals and backup systems running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Repair, maintain and improve all installed hardware components.
• Support and train end‑users on equipment and software.
• Maintain workstations, peripherals, system backups and utilities.
• Resolve system issues and respond to help‑desk tickets within agreed timeframes.
• Update, monitor and adjust software as instructed.
• Prepare reports and analyse recurring error patterns.
• Assist in evaluating and deploying new software and hardware.
• Follow the documented quality system and suggest process improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or engineering qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
• At least three years of relevant experience or an equivalent mix of education and work.
• Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and the Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience configuring PCs and troubleshooting hardware/software issues.
• Ability to read technical documentation and communicate effectively with users.
• Advanced English proficiency and a customer‑oriented mindset.
• Leadership, teamwork and a focus on results.
