Legal Counsel, Mexico Lead

About the role

Flex is seeking a Legal Counsel, Mexico Lead to join its Guadalajara team. Reporting to the Sr. Corporate Counsel of the Cloud and Cooling business unit, you will act as the primary legal partner for Mexico operations, supply‑chain leaders, and key customer accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day legal support on supply‑chain agreements, real‑estate, facilities, regulatory and corporate matters as part of a 2‑3 person regional legal team.
• Lead commercial negotiations and resolve contractual disputes with site customers, OEMs and other partners.
• Draft, negotiate and manage domestic and cross‑border transactions covering manufacturing services, procurement, IP, warranty, indemnity, inventory and financing.
• Advise on Mexican regulatory compliance, including foreign trade, IMMEX/maquiladora program, customs, data‑protection (LFPDPPP), environmental and anti‑corruption obligations.
• Represent the site in labor litigation, conciliation centers and labor courts, and manage outside counsel.
• Maintain government relations with federal, state (Jalisco) and municipal authorities.
• Collaborate with Trade, Government Relations, HR, Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, IT and Labor & Employment teams to resolve issues.
• Develop and deliver legal training, support diversity & inclusion initiatives and talent development programs.

Required profile

• Licensed attorney qualified to practice law in Mexico.
• Significant experience in corporate, commercial and labor law within a manufacturing or technology environment.
• Proven track record negotiating complex commercial agreements and managing litigation.
• Strong understanding of Mexican regulatory frameworks such as IMMEX, customs, data‑protection and anti‑corruption laws.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with senior internal stakeholders and external authorities.
