Manufacturing Engineer – New Product Introduction

About the role

The Manufacturing Engineer for New Product Introduction (NPI) at Caterpillar ensures that new products are launched with robust, cost‑effective manufacturing processes. This role bridges design and production, guaranteeing quality, safety, and regulatory compliance while meeting cost and delivery targets.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in CPPD and design reviews to influence manufacturability.
• Conduct feasibility studies for welding, painting, and assembly processes.
• Create and validate process flow documentation such as PFMEA, SFMEA, DF, CP, and IPV.
• Develop standard work instructions, visual aids, and training material for operators.
• Define tooling and equipment requirements for new product lines.
• Ensure compliance with APQP and PPAP requirements.
• Coordinate with supply chain, logistics, and packaging teams for smooth product transition.
• Close NPI issues with risk assessments before production commitment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field.
• Intermediate level of English.
• Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings.
• Experience creating assembly procedures and training operators.
• Capability to perform timing analysis and develop assembly routings.
