Material Planner (Temporary 1 Year)

About the role

ABB is looking for a Material Planner to join its Electrification Distribution Solutions division in San Luis Potosi for a one‑year fixed‑term contract. You will be responsible for end‑to‑end inventory planning, from purchase requisition to customer invoicing, while supporting internal customer service queries.

Key responsibilities

• Define inventory policies based on product segmentation.
• Calculate and maintain inventory parameters such as safety stock, reorder point, lot size, lead time, and replenishment strategies in planning systems and ERP.
• Coordinate material planning with call‑offs to ensure purchase requisitions are converted into purchase orders in collaboration with operations buyers and services.
• Develop strategies for consumption of non‑required and obsolete materials.
• Collaborate with buyers to improve supplier performance on on‑time delivery, MOQ, quality, lead time, and flexibility.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in material planning, demand, and inventory control.
• Advanced proficiency in English.

Required skills

• SAP or a comparable ERP system.
• Strong Excel skills.
