Maths IB or IGCSE Teacher

About the role

The Wingate School (TWS), an Inspired Education Group school in Mexico City, is an accredited Cambridge International School and IB World School offering the International Early Years Curriculum, the International Primary Curriculum and the Cambridge Lower Secondary Curriculum. It is seeking an enthusiastic IB or IGCSE Mathematics Teacher to join its Secondary team in August 2027. The school aims to foster critical thinking, problem-solving and conceptual understanding, presenting mathematics as both a creative and analytical discipline.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality lessons in IB Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation and/or Analysis and Approaches, aligned with the IB Diploma Programme framework.
• Inspire students to engage with mathematical concepts through inquiry, real-world application and interdisciplinary connections.
• Support students in developing confidence, resilience and curiosity in mathematics.
• Guide students through Internal Assessments and prepare them for external examinations.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and abilities.
• Monitor, assess and report on student progress with clear, constructive feedback.
• Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement of teaching strategies within the Mathematics Department.
• Collaborate with colleagues across departments to promote cross-curricular learning.
• Participate in school events, professional development sessions and extracurricular activities, and promote the school's values of respect, integrity and global citizenship.

Required profile

• Degree in Mathematics, Education or a related field.
• Recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS or equivalent).
• Proven experience teaching Mathematics at IB Diploma level (Applications and Interpretation and/or Analysis and Approaches).
• Experience with Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics or similar curricula is desirable.
• Fluency in English (native or near-native level).
• Enthusiasm for living and working in Latin America and contributing to a multicultural environment.
