Mechanical Design Engineer – Transmission Solenoids

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join Bosch’s Transmission Solenoids team in San Luis Potosí. The role supports the development and industrialisation of automotive transmission solenoids, working from concept through series production under the guidance of senior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Design mechanical components of transmission solenoids, including housings, armatures, springs and interfaces.
• Create and maintain 3D CAD models and 2D drawings following Bosch standards.
• Translate system and customer requirements into mechanical specifications and documentation (drawings, BOMs, tolerance analyses, design changes).
• Apply DFM/DFA principles to ensure high‑volume manufacturability.
• Participate in design reviews, DFMEA/DRBFM discussions and validation activities.
• Support validation testing, analyse results and document findings.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality and suppliers during industrialisation and ramp‑up.
• Assist root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions for design or production issues.
• Contribute to cost, quality and standardisation improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in mechanical design, product development or engineering support.
• Basic to intermediate proficiency with CAD tools (NX preferred).
• Fundamental knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials, tolerancing and manufacturing processes.
• Interest in automotive electromechanical components.
• Good written and verbal communication in English.
