Mechanical Engineer – Design for Compressor & Vacuum Skid Packages

About the role

Flowserve is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to develop detailed 3D CAD designs and Bill of Materials for complex compressor and vacuum skid packages. The role involves translating engineering specifications into manufacturing documentation while ensuring compliance with global standards and safety directives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and prepare drawings, plans, P&IDs, layouts and BOMs from engineering specifications.
• Review and interpret design specifications, select appropriate materials and components.
• Create manufacturing documents, including SAP master data and export control information.
• Validate functional feasibility with Product Engineering and Project Management.
• Operate 3D CAD tools (preferably SolidWorks) and PLM systems (preferably Windchill).
• Manage drawing and BOM revisions due to engineering, customer or manufacturing changes.
• Support customer‑specific calculations for steel construction and piping planning.
• Select and specify plant components (valves, instruments, pipes) for procurement.
• Ensure conformity with directives such as Machinery Directive, Explosion Protection, Pressure Equipment Directive.
• Prepare RFQs, review supplier offers and design tanks and pressure vessels to meet specifications.

Required profile

• Strong mechanical aptitude with meticulous attention to detail and quality.
• Experience preparing engineering documentation for industrial equipment.
• Familiarity with HSE/HFE requirements and international engineering standards.
• Ability to collaborate with internal and external engineering service providers.
