Mechanical Engineer (Design)

About the role

As a Design Engineer, you will report to senior engineering staff and work under a Project Leader to support technical needs across operations, purchasing, brand, quality, marketing and new product development.

Key responsibilities

• Provide multiple design, manufacturing and process options for engineering challenges.
• Support technical requests from various departments and collaborate with marketing and reliability teams to develop test plans.
• Work with the Milwaukee Tool Test Lab to create and improve product tests.
• Analyze data using practical and statistical methods, and perform mechanical design, stress analysis, material and heat‑treat selection.
• Qualify new domestic and international suppliers for prototyping and NPD.
• Interact daily with suppliers, quality and manufacturing teams to develop new products and improve existing ones.
• Create solid models, drawings, work instructions and other engineering documentation.
• Plan, prioritize and deliver engineering tasks to meet project deadlines, and present findings to cross‑functional teams.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing issues, develop process parameters and may lead small project sections.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in mechanical design.
• Knowledge of GD&T and basic tolerance stack‑up analysis.
• Proficiency with CAD tools such as NX, Creo or SolidWorks.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience with finite element analysis (FEA).
