Mechanical Engineer – Ensenada, Mexico

About the role

Fender Musical Instruments Corporation is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join its Electronics R&D team in Ensenada, Mexico. You will be responsible for the mechanical design of amplifiers, pedals, pro‑audio equipment and accessories from concept through production release.

Key responsibilities

• Design, analyze and test amplifier, pedal and accessory products to meet marketing and engineering requirements.
• Develop early‑stage prototypes using prototype technology and build test fixtures for reliability testing.
• Participate in design reviews and collaborate with mechanical engineers, industrial designers, drafters, electrical engineers, project and product managers, purchasing and manufacturing teams.
• Work with overseas OEM factories, evaluate first‑article samples and ensure manufacturability.
• Perform tolerance analysis on critical features and conduct SolidWorks Simulation studies.

Required profile

• Mechanical Engineering degree.
• 3–5 years of product development experience in electro‑mechanical design.
• Strong knowledge of SolidWorks, including surfacing and sheet‑metal modeling.
• Experience with FEA tools, preferably SolidWorks Simulation.
• Basic understanding of electronic circuitry and PCBA standards is a plus.
• Hands‑on ability to work in a shop environment, build prototypes and test fixtures.
