Mechanical Engineer – HVAC/Chiller Design

About the role

The Mechanical Design Engineer will support lead engineers in creating 3D parts, assemblies, 2D drawings, and model‑based definitions for water chiller products. The role requires independent work with minimal supervision while collaborating across disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Design structural sheet‑metal components and HVAC/refrigerant piping for chiller systems.
• Create and maintain 3D assembly models in PTC Creo.
• Develop 3D parts and produce 2D drawings or 3D Model‑Based Definitions (PVZs).
• Prepare and manage Bill of Materials (BOM) within PLM/PDM tools.
• Collaborate with electrical and thermal engineers to devise new water‑chiller solutions.
• Select appropriate materials and hardware, and communicate with suppliers.
• Support prototype builds, validation testing, and address manufacturing or quality issues.
• Under mentorship, deepen knowledge of thermodynamics and fluid mechanics.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of mechanical design experience, preferably in HVAC or refrigeration.
• Proficiency in CAD, especially PTC Creo (medium to expert level).
• Experience with PLM and PDM systems for BOM management and change orders.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC/R systems and components.
• Effective written and verbal communication in English.
