Mechanical Engineer II – R&D

About the role

The Mechanical Engineer II will support research and development initiatives by leading testing, characterization, and design‑change projects. Working with moderate independence and under senior guidance, the role contributes to new product development, provides technical support for existing products, and ensures thorough documentation of all engineering activities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead large tasks or small sustaining projects, executing product testing, characterization, and change implementation to improve functionality and manufacturability.
• Participate as an extended core team member on new product development projects.
• Provide technical support for current product lines, addressing issues and implementing reliability improvements.
• Maintain detailed documentation of design changes, test results, and product specifications.
• Conduct testing and validation of design changes to meet performance and safety criteria.
• Engage in continuous‑improvement activities such as Kaizen, 5S, and problem‑solving processes.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally to achieve business objectives and adhere to safety and quality policies.
• Travel up to 10% domestically and internationally as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with at least 2 years of relevant experience, OR high school/equivalent with 6 years of relevant experience.
• Experience managing low‑complexity projects.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with shifting priorities.

Required skills

• Familiarity with project management tools such as Microsoft Project.
• Familiarity with project management tools such as Workfront.
