Mechanical Engineer – R&D (Automotive)

About the role

Valeo, a global high‑technology automotive supplier, is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join its R&D department. The role supports engineering projects focused on innovative, greener mobility solutions and involves hands‑on work with design, documentation, and data analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Demonstrate awareness of project budgets and optimise resource utilisation.
• Assist senior engineers in executing engineering projects, especially standard design tasks (Newness level 1).
• Create and maintain technical documentation such as design specifications and test reports.
• Collect, analyse, and report technical data to support decision‑making.
• Apply established design processes and adhere to the discipline’s digitalisation roadmap.

Required profile

• 0‑2 years of experience in mechanical or related engineering activities within the automotive sector.
• Engineering degree with a solid understanding of basic engineering principles.
• Familiarity with industry standards and best practices.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Eagerness to learn and develop technical expertise.

Required skills

• Proficiency with computer‑aided design (CAD) tools.
