Mid Design & Release Engineer – Engine

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Design & Release Engineer to take full ownership of engine, mounting and structural power‑train subsystems for a mid‑engine vehicle platform. The role combines packaging, thermal isolation and NVH optimisation while driving the components from concept through to production launch.

Key responsibilities

• Own design, engineering release and lifecycle management of engine subsystems, mounts and structural brackets.
• Author and process Engineering Change Requests/Orders in Teamcenter/Enovia.
• Lead technical reviews with Tier‑1 suppliers, manage timelines, tooling progress and manufacturing feasibility.
• Integrate components within a dense mid‑engine bay, coordinating packaging trade‑offs with BIW, thermal, chassis and styling teams.
• Develop and execute Design Verification Plans, define durability, fatigue and NVH test requirements and lead root‑cause analysis.
• Maintain DFMEA and link critical characteristics to manufacturing controls (PFMEA).
• Drive cost‑reduction and weight‑optimisation initiatives while preserving structural rigidity and cabin acoustics.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive or a related engineering discipline.
• 3‑5 years of automotive product engineering experience as a Design Release Engineer or Product Engineer on power‑train, chassis or structural systems.
• Professional bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, with the ability to lead technical meetings in both languages.

Required skills

• 3D CAD modelling and packaging reviews using CATIA V5, Siemens NX or SolidWorks.
• Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5 and advanced tolerance stack‑up analysis.
• Knowledge of high‑volume manufacturing processes such as aluminum high‑pressure die casting, steel stamping, forging and injection molding.
• Experience with corporate PLM and BOM release tools (Teamcenter, Enovia).
