Mobile Design Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Mobile Design Engineer to shape the look and feel of the Kraken app. You will combine design sensibility with deep engineering expertise to create instant, trustworthy interactions for millions of crypto users.

Key responsibilities

• Own the motion and interaction layer of the Kraken mobile app, including easing, springs, gestures, transitions, haptics and sound.
• Define and evolve the mobile design system, creating reusable components and motion tokens.
• Partner with product designers to translate concepts into high‑performance code.
• Profile and optimise rendering performance, especially on low‑end Android devices.
• Influence architectural decisions around state management, render cycles and data flow to ensure UI responsiveness.
• Raise the quality bar across the mobile organization through code reviews, pattern libraries and best‑practice documentation.

Required profile

• A strong portfolio or demo reel showcasing shipped mobile interactions.
• Deep fluency with React Native and its ecosystem.
• Experience using Reanimated, Skia and bridging to native iOS/Android code.
• Ability to balance design intent with technical constraints.
