Molding Operations Engineer – Automotive Sensors

About the role

The Molding Operations Engineer will develop and maintain robust plastic injection molding processes for automotive electronic components. This role supports the production of speed, position, and magnetic sensor solutions used worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee compliance with injection molding operations and related transfer activities.
• Provide technical troubleshooting and support for molding process issues.
• Create and maintain work instructions, operating procedures, rework instructions, and deviation documentation.
• Define layout and arrangement of molding equipment in the production area.
• Collaborate with Design Engineering on new product and process development.
• Participate in customer complaint investigations and develop 8D corrective actions.
• Supervise grinding room operations and manage regrind material disposal.
• Lead cost‑reduction, waste, scrap, and defect reduction projects within molding operations.
• Coordinate validation of new products through scientific molding analysis.
• Source spare parts, tools, and materials for molds, presses, and peripheral equipment.
• Develop and document Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (FMEA) and maintain standardized work documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Knowledge of plastic injection molds and molding processes.
• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prepare and deliver professional presentations.
• Root cause analysis and problem‑solving capabilities.
