Payroll and Benefits Accountant

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Payroll and Benefits Accountant to manage accurate accounting and reporting of payroll and employee benefits transactions. The role ensures that all payroll‑related financial records are maintained, reconciled, and compliant with internal controls and accounting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Record payroll and benefits journal entries in the general ledger with proper accounting treatment.
• Maintain supporting documentation and accounting records for all payroll transactions.
• Reconcile payroll‑related balance‑sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes and assist in preparing financial statements.
• Provide assistance for internal and external audits related to payroll and benefits.
• Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive employee information.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
• 3–5 years of experience in payroll and benefits accounting.
• Strong understanding of payroll accounting principles and reconciliations.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with accounting systems; NetSuite preferred.
