Plant Controller

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Plant Controller to lead financial planning and cost management for our automotive leather upholstery plant in León, Mexico. The role will ensure accurate cost accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and improve standard costing and manufacturing cost accounting systems.
• Prepare annual budgets, monthly forecasts and oversee the financial close process.
• Analyse cost variances, profitability by product, customer and process.
• Manage inventory valuation and control.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure compliance with IFRS or local standards.
• Produce financial statements and KPI reports for multinational reporting structures.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across finance and operations.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience as a Plant Controller, Cost Controller or similar finance leadership role in manufacturing.
• Previous experience in the automotive industry (Tier 1‑3) is mandatory.
• Strong background in standard costing, cost variance analysis and inventory management.
• Proven ability to prepare budgets, forecasts and manage financial close cycles.
• Experience working with multinational reporting and audit coordination.
