Plant Controller – Manufacturing Finance Partner

About the role

The Plant Controller will act as the primary finance business partner for Acuity's manufacturing facility in Matamoros. You will provide financial guidance, operational insights, and performance analysis to plant leadership while maintaining a hands‑on presence on the shop floor.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with plant leadership to improve financial awareness and support operational decision‑making.
• Lead the monthly financial close process, including account reconciliations and preparation of financial statements.
• Develop, analyze, and report operational and financial KPIs.
• Prepare annual financial targets and support budgeting activities.
• Participate in daily, weekly, and monthly production and operational meetings.
• Drive continuous improvement in plant financial performance.
• Build and maintain financial models and reports using Excel and ERP systems.
• Support cost accounting activities and manufacturing financial analysis.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field (required).
• MBA or CPA preferred.
• 5+ years of accounting/finance experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing or maquiladora environment.
• Strong experience in cost accounting and supporting plant leadership.
• Excellent communication skills to explain financial concepts to non‑finance leaders.
