Plant Process Engineer

About the role

The Plant Process Engineer acts as the manufacturing engineering representative for all plant, equipment, and process activities supporting program teams. This role defines, implements, and optimises manufacturing processes for new products and customer programs, ensuring capacity, efficiency and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop manufacturing methods, equipment layouts and process flows to meet capacity and cycle‑time targets.
• Design, purchase, install and debug equipment that satisfies financial, quality and safety requirements.
• Create and maintain manufacturing documentation such as BOMs, process flow diagrams, PFMEA, and tooling authorisations.
• Prepare equipment and process preventive‑maintenance schedules and procedures.
• Support critical customer events (run‑at‑rate, PPAP, MRD builds) by ensuring readiness of processes and equipment.
• Apply Lean principles and statistical methods to minimise waste, improve ergonomics and drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with product engineering to guarantee manufacturable designs.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 14001/45001, IATF 16949 and internal EHS policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering.
• Minimum of one year experience in manufacturing or process engineering.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with engineering, program management and production teams.

Required skills

• Lean manufacturing techniques.
• Statistical analysis for process improvement.
• Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEA).
• Creation of process flow diagrams and manufacturing bills of materials.
• Equipment specification writing and installation.
• Preventive‑maintenance planning.
• Knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 14001/45001 standards.
