Procurement Specialist (Direct Materials)

About the role

QST Solutions, a manufacturer of automotive electronic components and sensor technologies, is seeking a Direct Material Purchasing Specialist. The role focuses on creating and executing sourcing strategies, driving cost‑saving initiatives, and ensuring optimal supply‑chain performance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain purchase orders and resolve invoice price discrepancies.
• Create and execute sourcing strategies aligned with business goals.
• Analyze the supply chain to identify financial risks and cost‑saving opportunities such as negotiations, value engineering, and value analysis.
• Support Materials Planning during critical supply escalations.
• Measure and improve supplier performance using scorecards (quality, delivery, commercial terms).
• Develop suppliers and implement Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) and direct‑material storage solutions.
• Maintain accurate vendor information in the ERP system.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent experience as Buyer, Commodity Specialist, or Sourcing Specialist.
• Strong knowledge of Excel and ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, or similar).
• Fluent spoken English.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar purchasing or sourcing role.
• Excellent negotiation, teamwork, and client‑service orientation.
