Product Engineer

About the role

As a Product Engineer at Lear Corporation’s NOVA plant in Chihuahua, you will work in an international, growing environment reporting to the Engineering Product Manager. The role focuses on designing and validating wire harnesses for automotive applications.

Key responsibilities

• Review and design harness plans.
• Validate product against drawings and customer specifications for engineering changes, new starts, and transfers.
• Review, compare, and upload bills of materials (BOM) in the REN2/QAD database for harness construction.
• Prepare, review, compare, and load cutting sheets in the UCS system and generate visual aids for special processes.
• Prepare, review, compare, and load standard times for harness manufacturing.
• Create and/or review cost studies in SEM and manage PCNs in EDS for engineering changes proposed by the client.
• Prepare Design Change Notices (DCN) and BOM Change Notices (BCN) to inform teams of implemented engineering changes.
• Ensure 100% compliance with Product Engineering procedures and maintain related documentation.
• Generate and analyze cost‑reduction ideas for the company.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Mechatronics Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of engineering experience in the wire‑harness automotive industry.
• Proficient level of English.
