Production Leader

About the role

ABB is hiring a Production Leader for its Electrification Business in Apodaca, Nuevo Leon. The role reports to the Operations Manager and ensures efficient, cost-effective production results by coordinating plant equipment, personnel and production processes. It is an on-site position.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare the annual production budget for multiple production lines, oversee progress and implement corrective actions on cost issues.
• Manage resources across lines with 55 to 200 employees per shift and 100 to 250 sections per week, and develop strategies to optimise operational performance.
• Manage mid-complexity orders so they meet customer requirements, and support Customer Service and Sales so order fulfilment meets revenue targets of USD 8M to 25M per month per line.
• Work with Operational Excellence teams to integrate lean manufacturing principles and drive continuous improvement that reduces non-value-added costs and increases yield.
• Ensure HSE compliance across all lines, monitor safety performance and mitigate risks.
• Lead a workforce across multiple lines, covering staffing, training and development, and guide direct and indirect reports.
• Report business-line performance updates to business leaders on volume, workforce allocation and lead times.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or a related engineering field.
• 8+ years of experience as a Production Leader, Junior Production Manager or in similar roles.
• Experience managing hourly and salaried employees (120+).
• Experience managing production schedules and tracking deadlines.
• Experience in electrical, electronics or similar manufacturing sectors.
• Lean Six Sigma certification and APICS certification.
• Advanced English and strong leadership and communication skills.
