Production Manager

About the role

Corning is seeking a Production Manager to lead and optimise manufacturing operations within its Optical Communications segment. The role focuses on establishing efficient processes, supporting equipment selection, and driving continuous improvement to enhance productivity and reduce costs.

Key responsibilities

• Prioritise and manage multiple complex tasks, ensuring on‑time delivery.
• Assist in hiring production personnel to maintain 24‑hour operations within budget.
• Monitor operations through reports, staff meetings, observations and direct contact to coordinate workflow, production schedules, budget compliance and resource utilisation.
• Oversee installation and initial use of new equipment, guaranteeing proper operation and integration.
• Organise and prioritise ongoing projects while ensuring employee safety.

Required profile

• B.S. or equivalent technical degree.
• Progressive responsibility in manufacturing and engineering roles.
• Proven experience leading departments to achieve continuous‑improvement, performance gains and innovation.
• Track record of building cohesive teams and fostering cross‑functional collaboration.
• Demonstrated ability to recruit, develop and place talent.
• Conversational English proficiency.
