Production Unit Team Leader

About the role

The Production Unit Team Leader will supervise daily manufacturing activities at ZF’s plant in El Marqués, ensuring safety, quality and productivity targets are met. You will coordinate shift teams, drive continuous improvement and act as the main link between production, quality, maintenance and engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily production operations for machining, metal‑mechanical and automated assembly processes.
• Manage shift schedules, assign tasks and monitor employee performance.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality and environmental standards (IATF 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, CTPAT/OEA).
• Track and analyse production KPIs, initiate corrective actions and lead Lean Manufacturing projects.
• Facilitate internal and external audits and support continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including Quality, Operations and Engineering.

Required profile

• Engineering or technical background related to production processes (preferred).
• Minimum 3 years experience in machining, metal‑mechanical or automated assembly environments.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, process measurement (R&R) and problem‑solving methods.
• Familiarity with automotive and environmental standards (IATF 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, CTPAT/OEA).
• Intermediate English with technical vocabulary.
• Ability to work rotating shifts.
