Project Buyer

About the role

The Project Buyer will support airbag projects through the development process, acting as the purchasing interface for the cross‑functional project team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop in‑depth product and process knowledge of responsible technologies and the global supply base.
• Conduct supplier workshops, plant visits, and technical reviews to understand the value‑added chain and cost drivers.
• Negotiate component engineering changes to avoid cost creep and improve project objectives.
• Execute all purchasing activities for product/project development in line with Autoliv Production Development System.
• Manage requests for quotes, obtain or estimate costs with Commodity Buyers.
• Coordinate lowest‑cost sourcing and drive cost‑reduction ideas to protect or enhance company margins.
• Lead feasibility and contract reviews prior to tool kick‑off.
• Place purchase orders to support new product development.
• Procure pre‑production, production, and prototype components through SOP.
• Maintain accurate costed bill of material and tooling cost through change management from phase zero through SOP.

Required profile

• Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Materials, or a technical field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in purchasing or similar roles.
• Advanced English proficiency.
