Project Buyer – Monterrey

About the role

As a Project Buyer for North America, you will join Mahle’s purchasing team supporting compressors, motors and pumps. You will work closely with program management, engineering and product teams to source components, negotiate agreements and track cost performance throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Send RFQs to bid‑list suppliers, evaluate offers and complete the sourcing process for new parts.
• Negotiate and execute supply agreements for components, following Mahle’s sourcing procedures.
• Track material cost estimates and project timelines after business award, ensuring performance against business case.
• Interface with product engineering to understand BOMs, technical drawings and electronic/mechanical requirements.
• Provide material cost estimates to the Team Lead as part of acquisition activities.
• Manage the procurement process from initial RFQ through start of production.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in negotiation and project management.
• Hands‑on experience with Excel.
• Ability to communicate effectively on technical topics and read technical drawings.
• Knowledge of electronic commodity markets and cost drivers.
• Bilingual English/Japanese is a plus.
• Experience in Tier 1 automotive industry is preferred but not required.
