Project Lead – Offshore Drilling Projects

About the role

Phronteseas is seeking a Project Lead to support its Latin America operations. The role requires strong Mobile Offshore Drilling Unit (MODU) technical, project and asset management expertise, with a focus on planning and forecasting for both operational and idle rigs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead deepwater operations on drill ships and semi‑submersibles.
• Manage towing, marine rig move and mooring activities.
• Oversee rig upgrade and out‑of‑service (UWILD) projects.
• Provide daily reporting and updates to Phronteseas and key stakeholders.
• Plan and forecast activities for operational and idle rigs.

Required profile

• Engineering degree with solid technical foundation.
• Former Assistant Rig Manager or Technical Superintendent.
• Excellent communication and customer‑focused attitude.
• Fluent conversational Spanish and proficient English.

Required skills

• Mobile Offshore Drilling Unit (MODU) technical knowledge.
• Deepwater operations experience on drill ships and semi‑subs.
• Experience with towing, marine rig move and mooring operations.
• Rig upgrade/out‑of‑service project management.
• Consistent reporting to customers and internal teams.
