Project Leader – EV Workshop

About the role

We are looking for a Project Leader to launch and manage an electric‑vehicle (EV) workshop in Monterrey. The role will oversee site acquisition, permitting, construction, equipment procurement, system implementation and team recruitment to deliver a fully operational facility.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the end‑to‑end site search, including brief, zoning, power‑supply checks, due diligence and commercial comparison.
• Negotiate lease terms with landlord and legal counsel and present the agreement for CEO signature.
• Secure all required licences and permits (municipal operating licence, state environmental filings, hazardous‑waste registration, fire and civil‑protection approvals).
• Develop the workshop layout (service bays, body shop, paint area, parts store, reception, offices) and manage architects, contractors and specialist suppliers through tendering, scope, schedule and budget.
• Oversee site readiness – power, connectivity, security, signage, tooling and furniture – before the first vehicle arrives.
• Specify, procure and manage lead times for workshop equipment such as lifts, diagnostic tools, EV‑safe equipment and paint booths.
• Establish parts supply channels and stocking policies for the AION/GAC fleet.
• Recruit, train and certify the technician team, focusing on scarce EV‑qualified profiles.
• Select and implement workshop management systems (work orders, inventory, maintenance history, scheduling, telematics, payment rails) and ensure integration with billing and reporting.
• Build the launch hiring plan, manage CapEx and OpEx budgets, and prepare board‑level approval documents.
• Conduct weekly stand‑ups, monthly steering reviews, maintain risk registers and decision logs.
• Run a full dry‑run of workshop processes on company vehicles before opening to paying customers and hand over documented operations to the permanent team.
