Project Manager - Electrical Projects

About the role

ABB is hiring a Project Manager for its Marketing & Sales organization in San Pedro, Nuevo Leon, reporting to the Project Operations Manager. The role adapts and implements a sales support strategy for a designated area in line with the global strategy, providing technical and commercial support to internal and external customers. It is a hybrid position.

Key responsibilities

• Offer technical advice and comment on specifications for customers, channels and sales engineers regarding ABB products, systems and applications.
• Translate customer needs into detailed project plans and drive internal execution to meet targets and on-time delivery.
• Plan and implement multiple simultaneous electrical projects at customer sites in the US, mainly in commercial construction such as retail, airports, entertainment, hospitals, education, multi-story residential and water/wastewater treatment plants.
• Serve as the primary customer contact during each project, handling specification issues, correspondence, updates and negotiations, and expanding projects through change orders where profitable.
• Prepare and deliver technical presentations and demonstrations, and train customers and stakeholders on products and solutions.
• Assemble and check technical documents for submittal and prepare contractually required documentation at the start and end of projects.
• Lead, develop and coach the Sales Support team, overseeing estimations, bids and proposals in line with ABB standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronic or a related engineering field.
• 5+ years of experience as a project manager in the electrical, automotive or manufacturing industries.
• Experience managing 15+ simultaneous projects involving low-voltage products and construction projects for schools, hospitals, etc.
• Experience managing stakeholder relationships with clients and external parties.
• Knowledge and application of ABB products, and ability to read electrical and single-line diagrams.
• Advanced English proficiency.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Salesforce, SAP (ERP) and Microsoft Project; PMP certification is a plus.
• Customer care, automation and process improvement skills.
