Python Backend Engineer (AI Agents & SaaS Integrations)

About the role

Gramian Consultancy is seeking experienced Python Backend Engineers to support a client developing advanced AI systems. The role focuses on building realistic backend applications, SaaS integrations, and defining long‑horizon AI evaluation tasks. Work is fully remote and paid per approved task.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement Python backend services that emulate established SaaS platforms.
• Develop REST APIs, microservices, and end‑to‑end backend workflows.
• Create new SaaS connectors from scratch and adapt existing integrations as needed.
• Perform thorough testing and validation of integrations to ensure functional parity.
• Analyze software workflows and datasets to define realistic AI evaluation tasks.
• Write clear evaluation rubrics and conduct structured QA on task outputs.
• Leverage Claude Code and other AI coding assistants throughout development and testing.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python and backend frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
• Hands‑on experience with Docker, Git, and basic CI/CD pipelines.
• Practical experience using Claude or Claude Code for AI‑assisted development.
• Professional written and spoken English.
• Solid understanding of software testing, version control, and code‑quality best practices.
