QuickBooks Accountant (Multi-Entity)

About the role

The Accountant will maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks for four separate legal entities, including a nonprofit organization. This role handles day‑to‑day accounting, month‑end close, financial analysis, and reporting to support leadership decision‑making and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain complete and accurate accounting records in QuickBooks for each entity, ensuring proper entity, class, and fund segregation.
• Record daily transactions such as bank activity, journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and intercompany activity.
• Perform monthly bank and credit‑card reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Process vendor bills, payments, employee reimbursements, and create customer invoices and receipts.
• Track, record, and reconcile intercompany transactions and balances.
• Maintain nonprofit financial records, track restricted/unrestricted funds, grants, and donations, and ensure correct expense classification.
• Execute month‑end and year‑end close activities, preparing balance sheets, income statements, and cash‑flow reports.
• Prepare financial reports and management summaries, analyze results, and support budgeting and forecasting.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations, maintain documentation for audits, and coordinate with external accountants.
• Identify and implement process improvements within QuickBooks.

Required profile

• Proven experience maintaining accounting records in QuickBooks for multiple legal entities.
• Familiarity with nonprofit accounting standards and fund tracking.
• Ability to perform month‑end close, produce financial statements, and conduct financial analysis.
• Experience coordinating with auditors, external accountants, and tax preparers.
