Risk, Control & Compliance Manager

About the role

The Risk, Control & Compliance Manager will embed IKEA’s risk and compliance framework into store operations, ensuring a safe and secure environment for customers and co‑workers. This role combines leadership of internal teams and external security partners to drive a risk‑aware culture and meet both IKEA standards and local legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the implementation of safety and security procedures in line with the IKEA Safety and Security Manual and local regulations.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures and identify safety hazards.
• Develop, design and install safety and security operating systems that satisfy IKEA requirements and national legislation.
• Participate in store design and build phases to integrate risk and security measures.
• Create and deliver training materials for co‑workers and external partners.
• Manage risk knowledge administration, including audits, reporting and record‑keeping.
• Drive risk‑related initiatives such as crowd management, traffic plans and process gap remediation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in risk, safety or security management within a retail or similar environment.
• Strong understanding of compliance frameworks and ability to work with local authorities.
• Excellent communication skills to lead teams and coordinate with external security services.
• Ability to analyse hazards, design preventive measures and oversee their implementation.

Required skills

• Knowledge of risk assessment methodologies.
• Familiarity with safety and security standards and legislation.
• Experience developing training programs and conducting audits.
