Risk Monitoring Analyst

About the role

As a Risk Monitoring Analyst, you will help protect Checkout.com and its merchants by reviewing risk alerts, investigating unusual transaction activity, and making evidence‑based recommendations. The role focuses on ISV sellers and is part of the founding Risk Monitoring team in Mexico City.

Key responsibilities

• Execute the daily monitoring process, reviewing alerts in the ISV Daily Risk Report and case management tools.
• Investigate risk signals, analyse transaction patterns, volumes, refunds, chargebacks and determine false positives or genuine risks.
• Document decisions, recommend proportionate risk controls and escalate high‑risk cases to senior staff.
• Communicate findings with Risk, Financial Crime, Onboarding, Disputes, Account Management and ISV Platform teams.
• Contribute to SOP improvements, identify process gaps and help establish operating standards for the new Mexico City team.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of hands‑on experience in risk monitoring, fraud operations, AML/KYC, credit risk or similar analytical environment.
• Strong analytical ability to spot anomalies, patterns and trends in transaction data.
• Professional maturity, high organisation, ability to manage a queue and keep accurate records without constant supervision.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English and Spanish.

Required skills

• Experience with case‑management tools.
• Proficiency in spreadsheets for data analysis.
• Ability to create and use dashboards to review information.
