Safety and Security Manager

About the role

The Safety and Security Manager will support IKEA’s growth by ensuring a safe and secure environment for customers, co‑workers and visitors across our stores in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. You will work closely with all management levels to embed a risk‑aware culture and protect the IKEA brand and assets.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver safety and security training, conduct audits and ensure compliance with internal IKEA standards and local legal requirements.
• Coordinate with the Emergency Response Team and manage incidents according to the store Emergency Management Plan.
• Report and investigate internal and external incidents, document findings and recommend corrective actions.
• Identify fraud‑prone areas, implement controls and partner with business units to improve inventory accuracy and reduce shrinkage.
• Develop and execute crowd‑management plans for peak days and proactively identify emerging risks.

Required profile

• Proven experience in safety and security management within a retail or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of internal IKEA policies and external legal safety requirements.
• Ability to lead investigations, produce clear documentation and work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.
• Excellent communication skills to train staff and liaise with external partners such as insurance companies.
